NA troops for Haiti, Sudan

KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Nepal Army will be sending a battalion of troops to the United Nations Mission in Haiti on October 29 and will fly its personnel to the UN peacekeeping operation in Sudan´s Darfur, known as UNAMID, within two weeks. NA will now have one Special Force Company of 160 officers and another Sector Reserve Company of 175 personnel in UNAMID.



NA has also completed the rotation of its troops in Congo on Sunday. The last replacement from Congo will reach Kathmandu on Tuesday. Such rotation of NA personnel posted at various UN missions around the world takes place every six months.
