Nepal’s COVID-19 recovery tally surpasses 10,000-mark

Health Ministry claims recovery of 60.7 percent of COVID-19 patients so far

KATHMANDU, July 13: Nepal has recorded the highest single-day recovery of 1,705 COVID-19 patients in the last 24 hours on Monday.

According to Dr Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, COVID-19 recovery tally in Nepal has reached 10,294.

The Ministry also confirmed six fresh cases of COVID-19 in Province 1, 41 in Province 2, 13 in Bagmati Province, eight in Gandaki Province, 14 in Province 5, 46 in Karnali Province and 16 in Sudurpaschim Province through 5,856 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests conducted at 25 different laboratories across the nation.

The numbers of people staying in quarantine facilities across the nation has been decreased to 23,470 and 6,613 people are currently undergoing treatment in various isolation centers.

As of today, 38 patients have succumbed to coronavirus infection. Four of them were from Province 2, nine from Bagmati Province, five from Gandaki Province, 10 from Province 5, four from Karnali Province and six from Sudurpaschim Province.
