KATHMANDU, Nov 1: As many as 963 Nepalis have been diagnosed with COVID-19 abroad in the past one week, and the death toll hits 284.
As countries battle the ‘second wave’ of the pandemic, Nepalis abroad have also been hard hit.
According to the latest data from the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), 963 Nepalis contracted the virus last week. Most of the new cases were recorded in Romania, Poland, Spain, Qatar, India, Canada and the United Kingdom.
However, in the past one week, no Nepalis living abroad have died of the virus.
A total of 43,569 Nepalis abroad have contracted the virus, and 39, 565 have recovered. The COVID-19 recovery rate of Nepalis abroad stands at 92 percent.
