KATHMANDU, July 6: As many as 180 new cases of coronavirus were recorded while 264 COVID-19 patients returned home after recovery in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Monday afternoon.
After the confirmation of fresh cases of coronavirus in various parts of the country, Nepal's COVID-19 tally has soared to 1,5964, spokesperson for the ministry Jageshwar Gautam said.
At a daily media briefing, Gautam informed that 264 COVID-19 patients were discharged after recovery in the past 24 hours. "With this, the number of COVID-19 patients to be discharged after recovery has reached 6,811," Gautam said.
The Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 54 new cases coronavirus today, according to the spokesperson. The surge of COVID-19 cases in the valley in recent days has been largely attributed to easing lockdown.
