KATHMANDU, June 12: The National Examination Board (NEB) has been making necessary preparations to provide the grade-sheet of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) by Mid-July (Asar).
Following the Cabinet decision to recognize the internal assessments made by the respective schools, the NEB has expedited its tasks in this regard. Concluding that administering the exams at this time of COVID-19 pandemic is fairly impossible, the Cabinet on Wednesday decided not to hold the SEE.
The Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokharel said that the ministry has been working in such a way that the students can receive their grade-sheets by the end of the Nepali month of Asar.
Minister Pokharel earlier on Wednesday said that a draft of a new education bill prepared in the spirit of federalism has been sent to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs after receiving the go-ahead from the Cabinet. The bill will settle the issue of the final exam of Grade X permanently once it is endorsed by parliament.
According to Chandra Mani Poudel, chairman at the NEB, the board has been carrying out its internal preparatory tasks regarding work procedure formulation. “We’ll go into action once we receive instruction from the ministry,” Poudel said.
