95 percent work of Sundarijal Water Treatment Plant completed

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: State Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Dipak Khadka on Thursday inspected the Sundarijal Water Treatment Plant which is under-construction by the Melamchi Water Supply Project.

A team led by state minister Khadka reached the site to take stock of work progress of the plant. The team also inspected a reservoir to be used to distribute drinking water, Mahankal lawn and water tank set up at Arubari.

On the occasion, the state minister said the ministry was working round the clock to inspect and monitor the project.

Secretary of the ministry Bhim Prasad Upadhyay said the team reached the site to take stock of the project's work progress. As part of the announcement to distribute water in Kathmandu valley within the Nepali month of Asoj in 2074 B.S., construction of the project has been sped up and its 95 percent of the construction has been completed, said Ghana Shyam Bhattarai, executive director of the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee.
