SINDHULI, April 2: Local residents of Sindhuli have now been habituated to the nationwide lockdown enforced by the government as the order entered its tenth day today.

The people are strictly following the lockdown to help the government in its efforts to contain the spread of novel coronavirus disease.

Although they gathered in groceries in the early days, they now seem to be aware. They try to avoid crowds. They rarely buy market goods, rather use domestic products.

In the district headquarters, only a few shops selling foodstuff and medicines are open. Pharmacies are open round the clock, however, groceries are allowed to open at the fixed time period helping the local administration to manage the crowd.

Vehicular movement has completely stopped except for ambulances and other emergency vehicles. Not only district headquarters, but other major cities along BP Koirala Highway are wearing deserted look.

According to the chairman of Golanjor rural municipality Pushpa Bahadur Karki, almost all the places of the rural municipality have turned standstill. People rarely come out of their house. “We are trying to deliver goods and services at their doorsteps and request them to stay home.”

Here are few photos taken on Thursday afternoon along various places of Sindhuli district.
