KATHMANDU, March 11: Samikshya Sangraula, who donated her kidney to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has been discharged from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital today.

Prime Minister Oli's chief political advisor Bishnu Rimal said that Sangraula returned home after being fully recovered. On Twitter, Rimal also wished for Sangraula's good health.

On March 4, PM Oli underwent a successful kidney transplant at Maharajgunj-based TUTH. Sangroula, 32, was recuperating in the same hospital after donating her right kidney to the prime minister.

Yesterday, doctors involved in the treatment of PM Oli said that he will need some six months to make a complete recovery from the kidney transplant surgery.

Dr Dibya Singh, the prime minister’s personal physician, said that they have decided not to discharge him from the hospital until they are fully confident he will not develop any complications once he is discharged.
