Kitaoka is to observe the earthquake-affected areas of Nepal, reconstruction progress and discuss the overall cooperation strategies, read the JICA press statement issued on Friday.
During his visit, Kitaoka will meet with Prime Minister K P Oli, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and other senior government officials.
Likewise, Kitaokais is also scheduled to discuss the reconstruction work of the government and JICA's contribution in it with the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar and National Planning Commission Vice Chairman Yuvaraj Khatiwada.
Similarly, he will also observe the earthquake-affected area in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Sindhupalchowk. He would also observe the Lokanthali-Kausaltar section of the Suryabinayak-Koteshwar six-lane road that was severely damaged in the April 25 quake. The road was rehabilitated by JICA.
Kitaoka became JICA's new president on October 1 this year, succeeding Akihiko Tanaka. Before assuming the present post, he was president of the International University of Japan. Kitaoka has specialized in modern Japanese politics and diplomacy.
