RASUWA, Nov 10: Rasuwa, one of the districts hardest hit by the 2015 April earthquake, has been witnessing a gradual increase in the number of tourists for the past four months. 

The mountainous district that is home to many tourist destinations including the Gosaikunda lake and Lamtang Mountain Range has so far welcomed 2,680 tourists to date of the current fiscal year beginning mid-July, according to Lamtang National Park Chief Conservation Officer Yubraj Regmi. 

The data made available by the park shows that a total of 177 tourists visited the district in the month of mid-July to mid-August. This number was 178 in the next month while 1,034 tourists were there to visit the district in the period from September 17 to October 16.

Likewise, since October 17 to November 9, the district welcomed 1,291 tourists. 
Many of them are from Belgium, Philippines, Spain, Israel, America, Japan, Thailand, Britain, Italy, Australia, Switzerland and Canada. 

The park collected Rs 10 million in revenue from the tourist entry fee to the park in this period. The Gosaikunda Trekking Route that suffered damages in the quake is being restored.

The improvement project that covers Dhunche, Chandanbari, Lauri Binayak and Gosaikunda is under the implementation phase. Likewise, a trekking route from Syabrubesi to Kanking along the Lamtang Trekking Route is being repaired. RSS
