84 candidates in Jhapa submit election expenditure details

JHAPA, Dec 12: Eighty four of the total 192 candidates who contested in the recently held election to the House of Representatives and province assemblies from Jhapa district have submitted the details of their election expenditures.

The candidates who submitted the details of their election expenditures include chairperson of the CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Jhapa constituency-5, said the district election office.

His election expenditure was over Rs 1.8 million, said Prem Guragain of the election office. Although there is a provision that the details of poll expenditures should be submitted within 35 days of the announcement of poll results, some candidates are delaying, he said.

Similarly, Krishna Gopal and Mahendra Khayamali of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party submitted the report mentioning that their election spending was zero, he said.
