Samajbadi Party Nepal quits government over constitution amendment row

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Samajbadi Party Nepal, a key coalition partner of the Oli-led government has quit the government on Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Law Upendra Yadav, who was leading the government on behalf of his party, stepped down from the post to be effective from today. 

Yadav tendered his resignation to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Tuesday afternoon. The development comes following the prime minister's refusal to endorse the constitution amendment proposal tabled by DPM Yadav during Monday's cabinet meeting.
