KU's third special convocation to be held in capital

BANEPA, Oct 26: The Kathmandu University (KU) has chosen the capital as the venue for its third special convocation to be attended by President of India, Pranab Mukherjee. 

The ceremony has been scheduled to be held at the Tribhuvan Army Officers' Club, Kathmandu due to special circumstances, according to University Press Coordinator Hari Manjushree. 

The University is conferring the honorary Doctor of Letters (D Litt) degree on India's President Mukherjee, who is scheduled to visit Nepal in the first week of November. 

The Indian President will receive the KU honorary D Litt degree on November 3 from the hands of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal who is the Chancellor of the University. 

This is the third time that the University is organizing the special convocation ceremony to offer the honorary D Litt degree to a special dignitary. 

Prior to this, Indian intellectual Karan Singh and culture expert and three times Madan- prize winner Satyamohan Joshi were conferred the honorary degree by the University. RSS
