MUGU, Nov 7: Rara Lake, located in Mugu has been witnessing the surge in domestic tourists in recent days. On average, 500 to 1000 tourists make it to Rara daily, according to hoteliers in the area.

This is considered the best season to pay a visit to the Rara area, some 850 kilometers west of the federal capital.

The tranquillity of Rara mesmerizes everyone who loves to visit the hilly region. The heavenly view seen in the morning makes the visitors forget every odd and difficulty they face during their journey to this enchanting nature’s creation.

The more interesting is Rara Lake changes its form three times a day. Brown in the morning, it changes into purple during the afternoon. When the day is about to end, in the evening, Rara and the sky look exactly the same.

Weather is perfect with no snow around. Soothing greenery and mesmerizing scenery around give you heavenly pleasure if you visit the area.

Visitors are seen camping around, taking photos, merrymaking while detaching themselves from the noise, crowd, pollution and hectic schedule at least for a couple of hours.

Suresh Shrestha from Kavre who was visiting Rara said that the visit to this beautiful piece in the land was worth it for him. "I request others to come here and experience the beauty of nature by themselves," Shrestha told Republica scribe recently during his tour.

Situated at an altitude of 2990 meters from the sea level, Rara has a length of 5km and breadth of 3 km, and depth of 167meters.

It is the habitat of different kinds of fishes, animals, and birds including musk deer, red panda, deer, bear, etc.
