KATHMANDU, June 24: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is addressing Parliament on Friday.

According to Prime Minister’s Press Advisor Pramod Dahal, PM Oli will be answering the questions raised by the Nepali Congress (NC) lawmakers at Parliament today.

The main opposition party NC obstructed a Legislature-Parliament meeting on Thursday, accusing the government of discriminating quake victims on the ground of political belief.

The NC has been accusing the ruling UML party of doling out money from the fund to its non-government organizations (NGOs) through the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA).

Coming heavily down on the ruling UML, the NC said the UML has been benefiting its cadres by recruiting them in various NGOs funded by the government, and thereby depriving the real quake victims of the quake relief.

In the House meeting on Tuesday, the NC lawmakers had drawn the attention of the government toward this issue through the Speaker Onsari Gharti.

Following the NC lawmakers’ demand, Speaker Gharti had ruled that the government address their concerns.

The NC lawmakers halted the House meeting on Thursday, saying that the government remained mum on their queries even after the Speaker’s ruling.

Talking to journalists after the meeting Law Minister Agni Kharel said the government would address the concerns raised by the NC lawmakers on Friday.
