The dead body of Shivaraj Roka Magar of Mirul-3 in Rolpa has been kept the hospital since three days.

Magar, who was studying in Tokyo, died on Tuesday. Following his death, the Nepali Embassy in Japan had initiated process to send the dead body back to Nepal. But, the dead body has been kept at the morgue paying around Rs 15,000 per day as the family members have not given the permission.

Acting Nepali Ambassador to Japan, Kulchandra Aryal told Republica Online that the Embassy has already written to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send back the dead body.

“We are waiting for official directives from the ministry,” he said.

Non-resident Nepalese Association (NRNA), Japan has also started the process to send back the dead body. NRNA, Japan office-bearers are in a constant touch with the deceased’s family members in Nepal.

“We took efforts after knowing that the dead body is lying at the hospital. But, the family members are yet to give a nod,” said NRNA, Japan Chairman Sudan Thapa, “We are in frequent conversations. But, we are yet to know the intention for declining.”

Likewise, Magar Association, Japan, Nepal Japan Students Society and Rapti Samaj Japan has formed a committee for collecting aid.

Bisheshwor Regmi of the campaign said that they are facing difficulties are the family members have kept mum. According to him, the family members are now pressing to send the aid money to Nepal.

“In one hand, they claim that the government and Nepali community are hindering to send the dead body back to Nepal. In the other, they have asked to send the money to Nepal at first, not the dead body.”

Campaigners say the family members are willing to come to Japan by spreading the message that the dead body has been stranded.

“We have learned that three of his family members are preparing to visit Japan. So, they are demanding to send the money, not the dead body,” said a campaigner.

Nod for family members is a must to send the dead body back to Nepal or perform final rites here. But, the family has not given permission for the both.
