Int’l conference on transformation-oriented education to be held

KATHMANDU, Oct 18: An international conference on transformation-oriented education and sustainable development is all set to be organized for the first time in Nepal.

The transformation-oriented education study center under the Kathmandu University School of Education is organizing the conference in the collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Nepal and Murdoch University of Australia.

“We take it as an opportunity to initiate discourse from Nepal at a time when the issues are being raised on the transformation in the education of Nepal,” said Balchandra Luintel, Associate Dean of School of Education.

“With changes in political, social and cultural spheres already, this conference will help address the issues of transformation in the education sector of Nepal. This is a great opportunity for Nepal to hold this kind of conference.”

In the conference, education experts, thinkers and researchers will dwell on the transformation-oriented education that befits Nepal having cultural and linguistic varieties.

Over 120 educationists from 14 countries will present their papers on transformation-oriented education in the changed context of Nepal.

The conference will also form a union from those professors involved in various universities and formulate a work-guideline on the transformation-oriented education.

The conference will be held from October 21 until 23 in Dhulikhel.
