KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a meeting with the chairperson of the ruling Nepal Communist Party Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday morning.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Dahal said that the meeting was focused on further deepening age-old friendly bilateral ties between Nepal and China. He said that they also discussed the prospective visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Nepal.
The two leaders also discussed various ways to further enhance bilateral friendly cooperation between the two countries. "I found the Chinese foreign minister very positive and excited to further expand bilateral cooperation between the two countries," Dahal said.
Dahal, who is also the former prime minister, expressed the hope that China will further increase its economic assistance to Nepal in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang held a separate meeting with the top brass of the main opposition party Nepali Congress today morning. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and NC leaders Bimalendra Nidhi and Ramchandra Poudel were present during the meeting.
Earlier today morning, Wang reached Bhaktapur Durbar Square for sightseeing. The Wang-led Chinese delegation is returning home after completing a three-day visit to Nepal today.
