NCP urges party leaders, cadres to refrain from making comments on leaders

KATHMANDU, Aug 26: A secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party held on Monday has instructed its party leaders and cadres not to comment or criticize party leaders publicly.

The meeting held at party headquarters Dhumbarahi, however, urged the party members to express their reservations in the party's internal meetings, if any.

NCP Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal chaired the meeting which also picked Law Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal as defense department in-charge and Province 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel as provincial affairs vice-chair.

Similarly, Law Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal and Ram Kumar Rai have been named the head and deputy head of security wing respectively. Journalist and writer Bishnu Rijal has become the deputy head of foreign affairs department, according to party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The meeting has nominated Devendra Parajuli, Kalpana Dhamala, Padma Rai and Kiran Rai as the party's central committee members.

According to spokesperson Shrestha, the secretariat meeting also inter-changed the responsibilities in district committees, sister wings, and different departments.
