Lawmakers draw govt attention on contemporary issues

KATHMANDU, Aug 8: Lawmakers in the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today have raised questions on dilly dallying over the formation of Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Lawmaker Janardan Sharma opined for immediate formation of the commission to give justice to the conflict survivors. Similarly, lawmaker Dilendra Badu blamed the government of not operating in a transparent manner. He added that the public procurement act was not followed while giving the contract to print national identity cards.

Lawmakers, Kedar Sigdel and Pramod Sah drew the government's attention over the delay in reconstruction of the parliament directorate. They said why the news broadcasted in Maithali and Bhojpuri language via Radio Nepal were stopped.

On the other hand, NCP lawmaker Krishna Gopal said that the NC's remarks on the issues of the office of NCP in Dhumbraharahi were objectionable. He also urged them to understand the matter in depth. Similarly, lawmakers, Dila Sangraula, Jhapat Bahadur Rawal and Prakash Rasaili drew government's attention on contemporary issues including citizenship.

Lawmaker Prem Prasad Tulachan urged the government to manage relief to snowfall survivors in Manang and Mustang districts, as farmers had faced huge loss during snowfall last year.
