Flat Iron Grill

Flat Iron Grill, Lazimpat serves burgers that are a mix of pork and mutton. They have hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon cheese burgers and marinated chicken breast burgers. Shibani Simha-Swiger, marketing director of Flat Iron, said, “The Bacon cheeseburger is the most popular among our customers, while the Mexican chicken sandwich also follows the suit.

We use only high quality meat from vendors that we trust. We ground our burger meat ourselves and do not use any fillers. Our patties are 100 percent meat. Our bacon is made in house by our team of chefs. The buns are soft and do not crumble in your hands while trying to eat.” On Friday night (Fired Up Fridays), they offer Rs 100 tacos in pork, chicken or paneer flavors and half off on select Great Divide beers, American craft beers.

Crazy Burger

The Crazy Burger at Thamel has been serving 12 different types of burgers for 14 years now. According to Anju Rijal, supervisor of Crazy Burger, the spicy chicken burger is their most popular burger. The place also offers chicken tikka burger, veg burger, hamburger, maxi hamburger and big hamburger and ostrich grill burger among others.

Burger Shack

Burger Shack, Tripureshwor offers 16 different types of burgers in two categories -- classical and premium. Each of these categories comprises eight different types of burgers.

According to Rachana Shrestha, a staffer at Burger Shack, classical burgers are regular burger while the premium ones contain extra sauce, BBQ sauce, special patties and come in a larger quantity. The place also offers two varieties of vegetarian burgers.

Double Melt and Baconiser burgers are their specialty and popular among the customers. Informing about the specialties, Rachana said, “We use jalapeno pepper in our patties as it give a distinct taste to the burgers.” Burger Shack also has an outlet at Jawalakhel.

The Burger House and Crunchy Fried Chicken

The Burger House and Crunchy Fried Chicken has four branches at Thamel, New Baneshwar, Mid Baneshwar and Dilli Bazar. Established in 2072 BS, the burger place offers around six types of burgers. The most popular burger here is the crunchy chicken burger. Basanta Lama, owner of the Burger House said, "The crunchy chicken burger is famous among our customers because the chicken patty is crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, giving it a unique flavor. We also make sure the buns are of high quality. Moreover, we use Indian masala in our burger to fit the Nepali palate."

Big B Real Hamburger

There are four varieties for vegetarian along with other non-vegetarian burgers at Big B Real Hamburger, Uttar Dhoka. The place offers as many as 15 types of burger. The Doodle Doo burger is the most popular and special burger at Big B Real Hamburger. Talking about the reason for its popularity, owner of the restaurant Binod Shrestha said, “Our chicken patties have a spicy flavor. The combination of BBQ sauce and other spices have appeased the customers’ palate. Having said that, we also have milder flavor of patties for those who don’t prefer spicy food.”

AT Burger

AT Burger at Dilli Bazar was established in 2069 BS and has three other outlets at Gyanshewar, Pulchowk and Boudha. They offer 10 different types of delectable burgers. According to Gagan Lama, owner of AT Burger, crispy chicken burger is their most popular burger and it has a smokey flavor. They use fresh meat and vegetables, their patties are crispy and crunchy, while their sauce is imported for an exclusive taste.

Opening Time: 8 am to 7 pm at Bouddha and 8am to 9 pm at three other outlets (Price: Rs 145 to Rs 210)

Southern Comfort

Southern Comfort, Jhamsikhel offers grilled, fried and steam patty burgers. The restaurant also offers two different types of vegetarian burgers. Nonetheless, the hamburger made in American style has stolen numerous hearts. Talking about the reason why you should prefer the burgers at Southern Comfort, head cook Raju Karki said, “We use pickled cucumber instead of fresh cucumber and the sauce are also special. This gives our burgers a unique taste.”
