KATHMANDU, July 11:Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he was also deceived into thinking that no letter with regards to pesticide residue test was received from India.

Prime Minister Oli said that he was mortified to know that he claimed that Indian Embassy had not sent a letter to Nepal when the latter had already received it.

Speaking at the program organized in the capital on Thursday, he clarified that Nepali people had to become incognizant of the letter sent by the Indian Embassy that urged Nepal not to conduct pesticide residue test on vegetables and fruits imported from India because it was kept hidden from him initially.

“I said that we have not received a letter from India though it had already sent one,” said Oli.

“Diplomatic effort was made in different places. However, I was not apprised of it. As a result, it caused me to feel ashamed. I would like to apologize for that,” added Oli.

Claiming that the kitchens of Nepali people should be free from pesticides, he expressed his commitment to making a conspiracy against him abortive.

On the occasion, he accused media persons of annoying him by making news about the muddiness of roads that are yet to be blacktopped.
