POKHARA, March 17: Durga BK, a 69 years old man, has appeared in the Secondary Education Exam (SEE) for Grade 10 which began across the country from Thursday, proving that age is no bar for education. BK surprised almost everyone present on the premises of Siddhartha Secondary School in Syangja, when he entered the exam center, walking with the help of a stick.
Those who had not heard about him couldn’t believe that he, too, was there to sit for SEE until they saw him in the examination hall.
A resident of Phedikhola of Syangja, BK who could not study when he was young because of poverty, had got enrolled in Grade 3 at Kal Bhairab Higher Secondary School at the age of 63 six years ago.
He said he was nervous before the exam. “Though I have taken a couple of exams in the past, I was feeling a bit nervous today,” said BK, a father of four sons and two daughters. According to him, he couldn’t write properly as his hands kept trembling.
