With the aim of picturing the beauty of Nuwakot Durbar Area, 22 artists had visited the site on March 15, where majority of the artworks were completed within two days of the visit. Meanwhile, some of the paintings were composed on the basis of photographs.[break]
The paintings are prepared using watercolor and acrylic medium, and reflect the historic, cultural and natural aspect of Nuwakot Durbar Area.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Ram Kumar Shrestha said, “I am delighted to know that many paintings were prepared within a span of two days. It feels great that one of the historically important places of Nepal is being promoted through an artistic medium. In the future, Nepal Government will provide its full support for promoting such art exhibitions.”
The exhibition will continue till August 23.
The artworks are being sold, with price ranging from Rs 6000 to Rs 100,000.
