Strike obstructs normal life across the country, IEDs found in several places 

Normal life has been affected in various parts of the country due to a strike called by the Chand-led armed outfit since early morning. Security forces including Nepal Army have defused improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in various districts including Bhaktapur, Dhading, Morang, Makawanpur, Rautahat, Arghakhanchi, and Kapilvastu. The one-day strike comes a day after the three separate explosions occurred in the capital on Sunday that killed four cadres of the outlawed Chand-led group leaving eight others injured.

Government projects 7 percent economic growth for FY 2018/19 (with full report)

Government has projected seven percent economic growth for the fiscal year 2019/20. Presenting the economic survey for the fiscal year 2018/19, Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada claimed that most of the financial, social and physical infrastructure indicators are in rising because of which the country will experience high economic growth in the upcoming fiscal year. Minister Khatiwada is scheduled to present the annual budget for the fiscal year 2019/20 on Wednesday at 4 pm. 

Home Minister Thapa vows to bring outlawed Chand-led group to mainstream politics

Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has vowed to bring the outlawed Chand-led group to the mainstream politics. Speaking at the Parliament, Home Minister Thapa said that the government is trying to hold dialogue with the group. Saying that people are defying the strike called for today by the Chand-led group, Thapa said that the long-distance public transportation and educational institutions were partly affected due to the strike.

Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today lawmakers Lalkaji Gurung, Bahadur Singh Lama, Shanta Chaudhary, Satya Narayan Sharma Khanal, Satya Pahadi, Samina Husen, Sarita Kumari Giri, Sita Devi Yadav, Smriti Narayan Chaudhary, Sujata Pariyar, Hariraj Adhikari and Gyan Kumari Chhantyal had drawn the attention of the government on these issues.
