Nine members of two families murdered in cold blood

A group of masked people murdered nine members of two families at Miklajung rural municipality- 3 on Monday night. Sharp weapons were used to kill the families of local Dhanraj Sherma and his father-in-law Bam Bahadur Phiya. The carnage survivor Sita said a group of masked people broke into the house at midnight on Monday and killed the family members with sharp weapons.

US Ambassador’s planned public interaction on social media draws mixed reaction

The United States Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry’s planned public interaction on social media has drawn mixed reaction from Nepalis. Ambassador Berry shared the idea on Twitter and Facebook yesterday. ‘Janata Sanga Guff Gaff (chit chat with people)’ is planned for every Monday. This will be a weekly interaction with the Embassy’s four million followers on various social media platforms.

Kami Rita Sherpa scales the Mt. Everest 24th times

Veteran climber Kami Rita Sherpa on Tuesday scaled the Mt. Everest for 24th times to break his own world record for most summits on the world's highest peak. 49-year-old Kami Rita has been climbing Mt. Everest since 1994. He couldn’t climb the Everest in 1995 after his client got sick on the way to the summit. In 1995, he abandoned the summit bid after a deadliest avalanche killed expedition teams. 

50 police personnel mobilized to probe Panchthar massacre

A total of 50 police personnel have been mobilized at Miklajung rural municipality of Panchthar where nine people of two families were murdered by masked men last night. To launch their investigation, police have also brought sniffer dogs. It has been suspected that the gruesome murder was intended to finish off both the families of father-in-law and son-in-law.  

DPM Yadav delivers statement during 72nd World Health Assembly in Geneva

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health and Population Upendra Yadav delivered a statement during the plenary meeting of the seventy-second World Health Assembly, on Monday. Minister Yadav shared the achievements of Nepal in the elimination of trachoma last year and meeting rubella control two years ahead of the regional target, according to a press release issued by Nepal’s Permanent Mission to United Nations based in Geneva.

Six students held on charge of black smearing assistant dean

The Chitwan police today arrested six students on the charge of misbehaving with Agriculture and Forestry University, Rampur, Faculty of Agriculture’s assistant dean Prof Bishnu Raj Ojha. They were taken under control from the Rampur Campus premises. Prior to this, the meeting of the University executive council expelled them from the college for two months for the misconduct. The group on April 4 put a black smear on the assistant dean’s face, by labeling several accusations against him.
