KATHMANDU, Sept 28: The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), has warned of a strong agitation unless the government implements the three point pact immediately.

The UDMF has been protesting against the current government stating that they are not working in accordance with the three-point agreement. "We are still on protest," said Sadbhawana Party Chairman and the UDMF leader Rajendra Mahato. "We are still on agitation, but we have changed its form."

In a meeting held between the Prime Minister and the UDMF on Tuesday the UDMF leaders questioned when the three-point agreement will be implemented, when the arrested will be released and how the government will conduct local elections without resolving the issues related to the delineation of federal states.

The UDMF strongly objected to three major parties for reaching a deal on restructuring of the local bodies based on the existing area clusters.

The UDMF lashed at the decision among the three major parties saying that the restructuring  included only 300 local bodies from Tarai which possesses more than 51 percent of the population of the country while over  600 local bodies from the hilly region.

The UDMF leaders had reached the Prime Minister's Office at Baluwatar to pile pressure on the latter  to implement the three-point pact as soon as possible.
