Statute amendment, government top priority, says PM

CHITWAN, Sept 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the government was committed towards the meaningful enforcement of the constitution. 

Inaugurating a newly constructed building of the District Administration Office, Chitwan amidst a programme here today, he said, "The main priority of the government is to implement the constitution." 

The elections of all three tiers would take place on time on the basis of a national consensus, the Prime Minister said, adding that the decision to form a high court in provinces and agreement on creating local units being based on ilakas (area) remaining under the structure of District Development Committee were the latest achievements made in the political sphere. 

He further said the post-earthquake reconstruction was the second most priority of the government and the reconstruction drive would be taken ahead by reviewing the work progress of the past 45 days. 

On the occasion, he took an opportunity to say that he would fully utlisied his second term as the head of the government to work for the wellbeing of the people. 

Giving his note about his recent state visit to India, the Prime Minister said the visit was successful and had added a new dimension to the Nepal-India relations with creating a new base for mutual trust. RSS
