KATHMANDU, April 13: The agitating doctors have postponed their protest and have decided to return to their respective workplaces from Sunday.

In the meeting held on Saturday late evening at the Health Ministry, the government assured to address the problem of the doctors within 15 after which the agitating doctors serving in government-run health institutions decided to suspend all the protest programs.

“The government has asked 15 days to address our demand for which we have suspend all the programs for next 15 days”, said Dr Dipendra Pandey, chairman of the Government Doctors Association of Nepal (GODAN). He informed that all the government hospitals would be in full operation from Sunday.

Taking a strong exception to the civil service adjustment act, the doctors serving in government-run health institutions had started a fresh round of protests since April 5.
