TRC expresses concerns on data security

The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) has expressed concerns on data security.  The TRC and Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP)'s tenure ends today – four years after both the transitional justice bodies – were established in February 2015.

No plan to withdraw Nepali troops from Libya : United Nations

The United Nations Headquarters said that Nepali soldiers would continue to stay in troubled Libyan capital city of Tripoli. Amid rumours that the Nepal Army was opting to withdraw its soldiers from Libya, Army Spokesperson Bigyan Dev Pandey said that the Nepali troops would continue to stay in Tripoli as long as the UN office decides to stay there.

165 missing from three Far West districts

A total of 165 people among those who ventured out into India for labour from three districts Accham, Kanchanpur and Doti have gone missing. According to a study conducted by the NIDS Nepal, a non-government organisation, the people who left homes for manual jobs in neighbouring India many years ago have neither returned homes nor contacted the families.

At least 16 killed, 30 injured as powerful bomb goes off in Pakistan's Quetta

A powerful bomb that exploded at an open-air market in the western city of Quetta, killed at least 16 people and wounded 30 others on Friday. Quetta is the capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province. Jam Kamal Khan, Balochistan's chief minister, condemned the bombing, saying "the enemy of humanity is behind this act of terrorism". 

Nepal defeats Singapore by 218 runs

Nepal secured a 218 runs victory against Singapore in its first match at the ICC Asia U-19 World Cup Qualifier at Selangor Turf Club, Kuala Lumpur on Friday. Nepal was invited to bat first after losing the toss. In its 50 overs, Nepal scored 282 runs losing all of its wickets in 46 overs. Nepal will play against the United Arab Emirates on Saturday.
