KATHMANDU, March 28: A member of the Nepali Congress Mahasamiti, Rajendra Bajgain, has demanded stringent action against Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Registering a complaint at the party's central disciplinary committee on Thursday, Bajgain has stated that the party president has worked against the party interests. In his complaint Bajgain has criticized President Deuba for supporting the policy and programs as well as the fiscal year budget unveiled by the Oli-led government last year.

"President Deuba's decision has not only raised question over the party's integrity it has also undermined the parliamentary practice. Hence, I urge the party to take stern action action against the president," read the complaint.

Bajgain criticized the party president for mentioning the conclusion of three-tier of elections as the historic achievement in the party's statute.

"Holding elections is a routine job of the democratic government. Interestingly, the party president dubbed it as the historic achievement in the party's statute issued after the elections," Bajgain criticized the party president while referring to the three-tiers of elections held during the Deuba's premiership in 2017.

The Mahasamiti member also accused Deuba of abusing the authority and breaching the democratic practices in various capacities in different times.

"As a result, the Nepali Congress faced a humiliating defeat in the recent elections," he claimed.
