KATHMANDU, March 7: The health condition of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who was admitted to Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for a regular checkup Wednesday, is reported to be normal.
PM Oli was admitted to the Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre under TUTH Wednesday morning, according to TUTH. He is being kept under observation, according to a press statement. A team of doctors led by Dr Arun Sayami has been administering medical tests to the prime minister, including blood test and x-ray. Oli is likely to remain in hospital for the next 24 hours, it is learnt.
Earlier, PM Oli was hospitalized on October 29 and discharged on November 2. He was placed in the CCU at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre after developing a chest infection and fever. This is his third stay at TUTH for follow-up checkups since then.
His condition is normal and stable, said Dr Uttam Krishna Shrestha, executive director at TUTH, in the statement issued Wednesday. "PM Oli has been kept under observation as some additional tests are required."
