BUTWAL, Aug 15: As many as 56 individuals including the COVID-19 focal person tested positive for COVID-19 in Province 5 on Friday.
Chief Division Health Officer under the Ministry of Social Development Dr Uma Shankar Prasad Chaudhary was diagnosed with the virus. He was also the COVID-19 spokesperson of Province 5.

Similarly, 26 people including seven security personnel in Kapilvastu district, 15 people in Rupandehi district, 11 in Banke district, 13 in Bardiya district and one each in Dang and Gulmi districts have contracted the COVID-19 virus.
With this, COVID-19 cases in Province 5 have reached 4,139 as of Friday. A total of 677 of those infected persons are currently undergoing treatment in various isolation centers. Similarly, 4,279 infected people have already recovered and returned home.
