Madhesh's alliance seeks CK Raut's release

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: The Alliance for Independent Madhesh has demanded the release of CK Raut, who has been remanded in custody for 61 days.

The Alliance said that arresting Raut and keeping him in custody for 61 days was unlawful, unconstitutional and undemocratic. It added that Raut was arrested without a warrant when he had gone to the District Court, Rautahat with his four-year-old daughter.

He along with four others are charged under the Criminal Code, 2074's Article 49 (1).
