551 students benefit from eye camp

KASKI, July 27: The rotary club of New Road organized a free eye check-up camp for the schools of the Samata School in ward no. 5 of Pokhara metropolis.

In the first day on Friday, 551 students up to Grade 5 underwent an examination of their eyes, said the club chair Dinesh Chandra Bastola. A medical team of five persons including two ophthalmologists ran the eye camp with technical support of Manipal Hospital, Pokhara.


The initiative was part of the various social programs organized by the club. During the examination, 25 students were found suffering from eye-related ailments. Many students also received medicine free of cost.
