Committee formed to resolve to existing provincial issues

The meeting of Inter-Provincial Council has formed a five-member working committee to minutely assess existing challenges of provincial governments and ways to address them. The committee has been tasked to submit its findings and recommendations in the second meeting on December 18, according to Prem Rai, secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs said.

Demo at Baluwatar; human rights activists including Pahadi held

Police have arrested human rights activists including Krishna Pahadi on the charge of demonstrating in front of the Prime Minister’s Official Residence in Baluwatar on Monday. The protestors were taken under control while they were advancing toward the Prime Minister’s residence crossing the restricted zone, holding a banner reading “Failure to Book Nirmala’s Culprit Constitutes Government’s Ineptitude”.

One arrested with two kilos of gold in Rasuwa

Police have arrested one person in possession of 2 kilograms of gold from Dhunche, Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-6, Rasuwa on Monday morning. Nima Dorje, aged 37, of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality, was arrested in possession of 2 kilograms of smuggled gold by the police based on a tip-off when he was traveling to Kathmandu in a Tata Sumo (Na 1 Ja 6176).  

Foreign Minister Gyawali likely to visit India next month

Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali will be visiting India in the second week of January to participate in India’s flagship geo-political and geo-economics conference in New Delhi, sources said on Monday. Gyawali is scheduled to deliver a speech during the annual Raisina Dialogue to be organized by the Observer Research Foundation in collaboration with India’s Ministry of External Affairs from January 8 to 10.

EPL 2018: Lalitpur Patriots thrashes Pokhara Rhinos by 8 wickets

Chasing the 167-run target set by Pokhara Rhinos, Lalitpur Patriots reached it in 15.5 overs losing only two wickets, with 25 balls remaining. Right-hand batsman Gaurav Tamar top-scored for Patriots with 82 runs with four fours and towering eight sixes off 41 balls, Jaykishan Kolsawala smashed 51 runs with four fours and three sixes off 38 balls while Sunny Patel contributed 20 runs off eight balls.

India-China set to resume military drills after one-year hiatus

The two militaries are resuming their military drills to improve capabilities in fighting terrorism and promote mutual understanding, the Press Trust of India reported on Monday citing the Indian government officials. According to PTI, the opening ceremony of the 13-day-long military drill will be held on December 11 in Chengdu, the capital of southwestern China's Sichuan province.
