KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced that the fifth South Asian Women’s Football Tournament will start from March 11 in Biratnagar.

ANFA spokesperson Kiran Rai said that the tournament, which will run till March 21, will be held at the Shahid Stadium.

“The tournament is going to be organized outside Kathmandu Valley as there is lack of stadium inside the Valley,’’ Rai said.

The tournament was fixed to be held in Nepal as Sri Lanka last week decided not to organize the tournament. The South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) gave the organizing responsibility to Nepal postponing the date of the competition for a month.

Earlier, SAFF had unveiled the schedule for the tournament starting from December 17, but Sri Lanka had asked the SAFF to not organize the tournament. After that, SAFF proposed Nepal to organize the tournament by postponing the date.
