16 killed, 17 injured in Dadeldhura school bus accident

DADELDHURA, Nov 22: At least 16 people died and 17 sustained injuries in a school bus accident at Raduwa Khola of Amar Gadhi Municipality-11. The ill-fated bus (Se 1 Ka) 293 belonging to Peace Zone Academy of Doti was returning to Doti after observing the festival at Ugratara Bhagwati temple, according to DSP Dambar Bahadur KC, District Police Office.

The injured have been rushed to the sub-regional hospital in Dadeldhura. Locals and all three security forces are engaged in the rescue operation. The bus veered off and fell off around 300 meters in the river. According to the local police, the bus was overloaded with more than 30 passengers including students and teachers.
