CHITWAN, July 6: Chitwan has recorded 53 incidents of human rights violation in the past six months alone, a slightly increase as compared to the same period last year, according to a half yearly report made public by the Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) amid a programme here on Friday.

Last year 45 incidents of human rights violation took place in six months. The incidents of human rights violation dominated 34 incidents of rape and sexual abuses. The rape survivors are aged between children to 73. Over 17 children were raped, while four incidents of rape were related to incest. Of the human rights violation incidents, three are related to racial discrimination, six to domestic violence, two to women trafficking and eight to polygamy.
The INSEC has expressed its concern about rising incidents of human rights violation lately, and called for efforts from all quarters to control such illegal acts.
