KATHMANDU, Oct 28: Malaysia's Minister of Human Resources M. Kula Segaran has arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday to sign a bilateral labor pact with Nepal.

Senior government officials welcomed the Malaysian delegation at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Sunday night.

Minister for Labor, Gokarna Bista, and the Malaysian minister will reach the much-awaited labor deal amid a function to be held 11 am on Monday at Hotel Hayat.

The deal will pave way for sending Nepali migrant workers to Malaysia, Secretary at the Labor Ministry Mahesh Dahal told Republica Online. This will be the first labor agreement between the two countries.

Secretary Dahal said that Nepali migrant workers will not have to pay a single rupee to go to Malaysia for employment.

"The labor pact is expected to be highly in favor of Nepali migrant workers in Malaysia," he argued.

The draft of MoU states that Malaysia will bear all expenses of Nepali migrant workers to go to Malaysia in future.

Malaysia has remained one of the lucrative destinations for Nepali migrant workers for foreign employment.
