NSC tells embassies not to recognize Pradhan NOC

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: National Sports Council (NSC), the apex sports body of the nation has corresponded with the 32 foreign embassies in Nepal and India not to entertain the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) headed by Dhruba Bahadur Pradhan.



"We had requested the embassies not to entertain Pradhan led committee as the Supreme Court declared the committee illegal," NSC Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama said to the Republica adding, "We have also sent the translated verdict of court to all the embassies," Lama said.[break]



The Supreme Court had reinstated the Rukma Sumsher Rana led NOC which do not have international reorganization. Meanwhile, Pradhan led committee has been reorganized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA).



Lama also informed that NSC had sent letter to the IOC with the signatures of 22 association recognized by the NOC asking IOC to solve the Olympic Committee disputes in Nepal. "Altogether 24 sports associations have signed, agreeing that the Supreme Court verdict be implemented," Lama said.



Meanwhile, Nepal Olympian Associations has been registered at the NSC as its 125th member association under the leadership of Sunil Lal Joshi.
