KATHMANDU,Oct 8: A discussion scheduled for Sunday at the Supreme Court on a writ petition over IOM entrance exam results has been postponed. As a result, the uncertainty over the admission of around 2,000 medical students under the TU’s IOM has continued.

A single bench of SC Justice Deepak Raj Joshee had on October 2 stayed the admission process through an interim order and summoned both the plaintiff and the defendants for discussion for October 7. However, the discussion has been postponed, according to the IOM sources.

The entrance exams of MBBS, BDS, BPH, Bachelor in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science in Medical Lab Technology, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Bachelor in Nursing courses were held on September 22 to 24. About 15,000 students appeared in the entrance tests for the new academic session, which is scheduled to begin from November 17.

The petition was filed by examinee Reshma Baniya, complaining irregularities in the entrance exam results. The students securing at least 50 percent marks in the single door entrance exams will be eligible for getting admission in the IOM colleges nationwide.
