Nepal wins by 140 runs against Thailand, Karan KC shines

Nepali cricket team won by 140 runs as per D/L method against Thailand in the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B at Kuala Lumpur. Nepal had set the target of 173 runs in 20 overs losing seven wickets. Thailand scored only 18 runs in 8.5 overs losing nine wickets. 

Govt increases minimum wage of working journalist by 25%

The government has decided to increase the minimum wage of working journalists by 25 percent. The meeting of the Council of Ministers today took the decision that all journalists and employees working at media houses would have their wage increased from coming October 18. 

Unidentified group attacks administrative officer

An unidentified group has attacked Chief Administrative Officer of Badimalika municipality, Trilok Chandra, on Saturday night. DSP Sagar Bohora told Republica that they are investigating into the incident.

Upreti reappointed Academy Chancellor

Ganga Prasad Upreti has been appointed as the Chancellor of Nepal Academy again. Prime Minister and chief patron of the Academy, KP Sharma Oli, appointed him for the post again. Similarly, in the vacant post of Member Secretary at Nepal Sanskrit University, Prof Jagat Prasad Upadhyay has been appointed.

At least 11 killed when M 5.9 quake struck northern Haiti

 

At least 11 killed when 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck just off the northwest coast of Haiti late Saturday. The earthquake damaged homes, a church and at least one hospital. People had been injured but had not confirmed local media reports of deaths. The U.S. Geologic Survey said the quake hit at 8:11 p.m. (0011 GMT) and was centered 12 miles (19 kilometers) northwest of Port-de-Paix on Haiti’s north coast. It was 7.3 miles (11.7 kilometers) below the surface.

Liverpool vs Man City: Match Preview
