First three tourists entering Nepal from eastern checkpoints welcomed

BHADRAPUR, Sept 27: The first three tourists entering Nepal from the eastern part of the country received a warm welcome marked by fanfare.

They were welcomed by the Immigration Office, Kakadvitta in Jhapa, on the occasion of the World Tourism Day that falls today.

The welcomed tourists are Thai national Arunmen Uddnan and Chachana Sinpuru and Indian national Ranjan Kasyap, according to the Immigration Office, Kakadvitta.

Chief District Officer of Jhapa, Janak Raj Dahal welcomed these first three tourists by offering them shawl and putting vermillion on them as a mark of respect.

On the occasion, female tourists were honoured with green bead garland and males with Dhaka topi, Nepali's traditional cap.

Thai tourist Chachana Sinpuru, a Buddhist, shared that he was visiting Nepal with a reference to what he had read once - the land of the Lord Buddha and beautiful and peaceful country.

Similarly, Indian tourist Kashyap who is working as the Chief of the Assam Downtown University's International Department at Guwahati in Assam State of India, said that he was visiting Nepal to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva in the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu. RSS
