Roja KC, 18, is a budding triathlete.  Since a very early age, Roja has been actively involved in sports. She used to be involved in almost every extracurricular activity during her school days. So it’s no surprise that Roja has now become a national athlete, and has won various national and international awards.
Her performance during the 12th SAG was noteworthy. She bagged a bronze and silver medals under individual category of triathlon and triathlon relay, respectively.
In conversation with Republica’s Prasansha Rimal, Roja shares five things many may not know about her.



Loves to spend money on sports gear 
Roja says instead of spending money on cosmetics, accessories or girly clothes, she usually spends money buying sports gear. She can’t help but buy sports gear in neon color since it’s her favorite color. She says she prefers to be comfortable and walk around in track suit instead of typical girly dresses or skirts.

Has passion for mountain biking
Other than travelling, Roja also has passion for mountain biking. She wants to go on a mountain biking adventure to Mustang and Solukhumbu. She has even competed on a national mountain biking championship held at Dharan where she was able to secure position as top five participant.

Fond of helping others
Roja says she loves to help people, especially athletes. She says she has frequently helped her fellow athletes. She usually gives away her extra sports gear to her friends who might need it more than her.

Doesn't like football
Although Roja loves all kinds of sports and likes to get involved in everything, she says she is not particularly fond of football. She watches football matches, but finds it difficult to play the sport. She also doesn’t understand the crazy fandom behind famous 
football players and clubs.

Is a singer
Roja loves to sing. She uploads her cover songs on her €YouTube channel named Gharmai studios. She has uploaded three cover songs till now. She prefers to sing English songs, and has been singing since her childhood when her father made her take singing lessons. Her favorite singer is Adele, and she also hopes to have a promising career in music like sports.
