KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Lawmakers speaking during the special time in the meeting of the House of Representatives raised various issues ranging from the need of managing the country's oldest library well to taking strong measures to reduce violence against women. 

Chhabilal Bishwakarma demanded that the Nepal National Library should be managed and preserved properly. He also pointed out the need for establishing national libraries in each province. 

Dilendra Prasad Badu sought investigation into the alleged irregularities in the purchase of two wide-bodied aircraft which the Nepal Airlines Corporation recently bought. 

Anil Kumar Jha demanded that Resham Chaudhary, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Kailali district, should be administered the oath of lawmaker and handed the MP certificate. 

Uma Shankar Agariya raised the issue of shortage of fertilizers for the rice cultivation and urged the government to supply adequate quantity of the fertilizer to farmers. 

Prem Suwal called for investigation into the irregularities said to have been committed in various development projects and bringing the guilty to book. 

Khagaraj Adhikari demanded providing living allowance to the players who won silver medals in the Asian Games held recently in Indonesia. 

Umakanta Chaudhary called for systematizing the customs offices in Bara and Parsa districts. 

Sarita Giri urged the government to formulate and implement an action plan for minimizing incidents of violence against women by giving priority to this issue. 

Hit Bahadur Tamang demanded the reconstruction of the roads damaged due to rain and to provide relief assistance to the flood and landslide victims. 

Uma Regmi called on the government to withdraw the hike in the price of petroleum products. She also strongly demanded ending violence against women. 

Sashi Shrestha demanded a thorough investigation into the case of rape and murder of Nirmala Panta and stern action against her killers. 

Pramod Saha said that those found guilty of committing excesses during the Madhes movement should be punished. 

Padam Giri said the 'syndication' of the banks should be broken as they have increased the interest rate in unusual manner time and again with profit motive and discouraged investors.
