KHOTANG, Sept 3: A fourth birthing center has been established at Khotehang rural municipality in Khotang.

Khotehang rural municipality comprises of nine wards. The maternal center is located at Indrapokhari of the rural municipality.

In order to decrease the maternal and infant mortality rate, with good equipment and manpower, a birthing center has been established at Indrapokhari based health post.

“Locals of the Khotehang were compelled to visit either District Hospital, Diktel, or to other health centers for which it was given the major priority”, said Pradip Rai, chief, Khotehang rural municipality.

The birthing center was inaugurated on Sunday.

Also, the rural municipality informed that other birthing centers would come to an operation right after the completion of the construction of the building.
