To clean tile floors or countertops, you can make a cleanser at home by mixing baking soda and water together in a spray bottle. Pour half a cup of baking soda into a liter of water. Then scrub with a string mop or sponge. For wood, get yourself a bucket and mix nine parts warm water to one part white vinegar. This will make wooden floors gleam.

Attack extra-greasy dishes, pots, and pans by filling a sink with hot water and adding three to four tablespoons of white vinegar, along with a squirt of your usual dishwashing liquid.

Vinegar’s natural acidity will cut through that stubborn grease like a knife through butter.

You can remove tarnish with ketchup. Dab some onto a soft cloth and gently rub copper and brass fixtures, pots, and pans. Finish by rinsing with warm water. You can also leave the ketchup on the tarnished area for a minute or so and then rub it with a soft cloth.

The quickest way to clean a microwave oven is to place a handful of wet paper towels inside it and run it on high for about five minutes. The steam from the towels will soften the grime. Once the paper towels cool down, use them to wipe the oven’s interior.

When permanent markers end up in the wrong hands, it can cause a lot of havoc. But vegetable oil can clean it off lots of surfaces, even the skin. Simply give the area a swipe with the vegetable oil you have in your kitchen and then just wipe it with a damp cloth and you’re done.
