Government forms high level talk team

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday formed a high level talk team to hold dialogue with the agitating groups which were not brought to talk during the political transition for different reasons. 

The talk team to be coordinated by Som Prasad Pande includes the members as Suresh Ale Magar (Tanahu), Taranath Chaudhari (Saptari), Leela Bhandari (Kailali) and a joint secretary to be assigned by the Home Ministry, said Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Baskota. 

The team was formed to give continuity to the talk missed by the constitutional political dialogue and consensus committee formed as per the Interim Constitution of 2063 and to present report of the committee for its implementation. 

Similarly, the government decided to accept Rs 2 billion grants to be provided by the Swiss government for the implementation of safe migration project. 

Expressing concern over the agitation being fuelled by some elements in Kanchanpur, the government expressed commitment to take action against the culprit at a time when a high level probe team has already been formed to this. 

Government is sensitive and the culprit would be brought to book at any cost, reiterated the Minister. 

Minister Baskota further said the meeting decided to present a proposal seeking approval on regional cooperative agreement for research and development and training related to nuclear science and technology from the federal parliament. 

Moreover, Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has been given authority to sign the agreement on transfer of technology among the BIMSTEC members.
