KATHMANDU, Aug 20: Nepathya is set to make their third performance in London. The first being the historic Wembley Arena show five years ago. Three years ago, Nepathya had performed at the O2 Academy Brixton, where they will be performing again on September 1.

Earlier this year, Nepal’s premier folk rock band had a successful tour of the US, where they performed in Dallas and Boston. Their recent show was a successful stop over at the prestigious Tokyo Dome City Hall in the Japanese capital Tokyo.

O2 Academy Brixton is a reputed venue in London, where artists like Bob Dylon, Madonna, Iron Madien, Sex Pistol, UB40 have already performed. Other names that have links to the venue are Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, The Police, Wham, Culture Club and many more.

O2 Academy is also the venue, where Nepathya performed in 2015. Nepathya’s show then also coincided with the 200 years celebration of Britain – Nepal relationship. Nepali soldiers have been a part of the British Gurkha regiment for many years and now many Gurkha families have opted to settle in the UK. UK also remains a sought-after destination for many Nepali students.

Amidst a growing Nepali Diaspora based in the UK, Nepathya has always been welcomed with a warm gesture. Such gesture have been witnessed in both 2013 and 2015 shows in Wembley Arena and O2 Academy respectively.

Recent survey indicates the presence of around 80 thousand Nepalese in the United Kingdom. Around 30 thousand British citizens choose Nepal as their travel destination each year.

The show at O2 Brixton is being organized by Debbre Events.
